The Design

• MORE DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE. MORE CONTROL: The new RT is powered by an air/water-cooled BMW boxer engine which provides powerful forward thrust with substantial torque and an output of 125 hp. Thanks to standard Automatic Stability Control (ASC) this machine provides optimum traction to account for a variety of road surfaces and conditions. "Rain" and "Road" modes can be activated at the press of a button to adapt the motorcycle to weather and road conditions. The on-board computer Pro with multi-controller, power adjustable windshield, and heated grips complete the range of basic equipment features.

• HEADLIGHTS AND FRONT VIEW: The headlight combination is distinctive and shapes the dynamic front.
• COCKPIT: The combination of classical, analog round instruments for speed and revs and the modern color TFT screen provide the rider with all the relevant information at all times.
• WINDSCREEN FOR TRANSPARENT SLIPSTREAM DEFLECTOR: Effective reduction of wind impact and wind noise: for increased comfort, particularly on long routes. The windscreen can electrically be adjusted infinitely.
• HIGHER SEAT COMFORT: The ergonomics triangle of handlebars, seating surface and foot pegs has been lowered: for lower seat height and lower center of gravity. The result: increased comfort for rider and passenger without restricting the lean angle.
• RIGHT STORAGE COMPARTMENT: The right storage compartment has room for USB stick, iPod and other music storage devices, provided the audio system available as special equipment has been fitted.
• CASE: The elegant cases harmoniously complement the overall design of the vehicle and highlight the absolute touring suitability of the R 1200 RT.
• INNOVATIVE AUDIO OPERATING PART: You can control the audio system using merely four buttons. The remaining functions are controlled using the multi-controller: for more comfort and safety.
• REAR LIGHTS WITH LED TECHNOLOGY: The rear with the wide rear lights seems more dynamic and lighter than you might expect from a machine with this level of touring suitability.
